A few rainy days, a lot new in Lauma
Prototype cases for every device, collar updates from the phone, feedback straight from the app, and power savings in the collar. Rain gets things done.
A few rainy days landed in the middle of the grouse season, and they went to the workshop and the keyboard. Briefly, what is going on.
Every Lauma device now has its own prototype case: the collar, the personal node that rides in a pocket, the cloud node and the coverage node. Black, the Lauma mark in white on the lid.

Today, between showers, there was time for a short trip, and we came back one case and one antenna poorer. This is exactly why these get tested now: better it comes off a prototype this autumn than off somebody else's dog next season.
The collar's firmware can now be updated from the phone, without opening the case. In the development build for now.
The app has a direct channel to the developers: ⚙ → Development data → Send an idea or a bug report. At this stage it is the most important feature in the app. I read every one.
We found a place where the collar was burning power for nothing while asleep. Fixed; the saving is still to be measured.
And a pile of things that show nowhere but are done.
Next, a proper head-to-head between different collar designs on the same dog, mainly the radio reach. Laikku gets two collars round her neck.
